Tokyo Hilton FNR Guide: 9 Hotels, Weekend Rates & Aspire Resort Credit
Tokyo and Yokohama offer several attractive Hilton Free Night Reward (FNR) redemption opportunities, ranging from Conrad Tokyo to waterfront Hilton hotels and distinctive luxury properties affiliated with Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH).
However, an expensive hotel does not automatically make a great FNR redemption. The key is finding an eligible Standard Room Reward on a date when the cash rate is high.
For this guide, I compared nine properties across Tokyo, Yokohama, and Odawara using weekend cash rates and Hilton Honors Points requirements. I also searched a one-year booking window at three luxury SLH properties to evaluate how difficult their award nights are to find.
Two hotels in this comparison—Hilton Tokyo Bay and Hilton Odawara Resort & Spa—also qualify for the Hilton Aspire Resort Credit, providing a different strategy for reducing hotel expenses without necessarily using an FNR.
For the certificate rules and redemption process, see the Hilton Free Night Reward Complete Guide.
⭐ Tokyo & Yokohama Hilton FNR: Weekend Cash Rate Comparison
This comparison uses October 30, 2026 (Friday check-in, Saturday check-out).
Friday is especially relevant to Japanese-issued Hilton American Express Weekend Free Night Rewards, which are restricted to Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. U.S.-issued Hilton FNRs do not have the same weekend-only restriction.
All cash rates are presented in USD and reflect the prices observed during my searches.
| Hotel | Oct. 30 Cash Rate | Standard Room Reward | FNR Assessment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gajoen Tokyo | US$1,775 | No eligible dates found within one year | Extremely difficult |
| The Tokyo Station Hotel | US$1,330 | No eligible dates found within one year | Extremely difficult |
| TAKANAWA HANAKOHRO | US$1,289 | No eligible dates found within one year | Extremely difficult |
| Conrad Tokyo | US$1,073 | 130,000 Points | Top priority |
| Hilton Tokyo Odaiba | US$462 | 75,000 Points | Second choice |
| Hilton Tokyo | US$452 | 85,000 Points | Second choice |
| Hilton Odawara Resort & Spa | US$253 | 88,000 Points | Resort Credit priority |
| Hilton Tokyo Bay | US$203 | 60,000 Points | Resort Credit priority |
| Hilton Yokohama | US$201 | 85,000 Points | Low FNR priority |
Search methodology: These are cash rates observed for the specified check-in date, not advertised starting prices. Rates and award availability can change. The three SLH cash rates do not represent confirmed FNR savings because no eligible Standard Room Reward dates appeared in the one-year search window.
Standard Room Reward Points by Hotel
Hilton Honors does not use one fixed award price across all properties. Each hotel can have its own Standard Room Reward pricing structure.
Some properties have fixed base Standard Room Reward prices, while others vary by date.
| Hotel | Base Standard Room Reward Pricing | Oct. 30 Points |
|---|---|---|
| Conrad Tokyo | Fixed at 130,000 | 130,000 |
| Hilton Tokyo Odaiba | Fixed at 75,000 | 75,000 |
| Hilton Tokyo | 70,000–85,000 | 85,000 |
| Hilton Odawara Resort & Spa | 53,000–100,000 | 88,000 |
| Hilton Tokyo Bay | 51,000–85,000 | 60,000 |
| Hilton Yokohama | 39,000–85,000 | 85,000 |
Conrad Tokyo has a fixed base Standard Room Reward price of 130,000 Points, while Hilton Tokyo Odaiba has a fixed base price of 75,000 Points. The other four properties have variable Standard Room Reward prices within the ranges shown above.
A fixed points price does not guarantee that an eligible award room is available every night.
For a points redemption, comparing the cash rate against the points required is useful. For an FNR redemption, the more relevant question is how much cash spending the certificate can replace.
For more details about Hilton award pricing, see the Hilton Honors Complete Guide.
🏨 Nine Hilton & SLH Hotels in Tokyo, Yokohama and Odawara
The nine properties in this guide cover central Tokyo, Tokyo Bay, Yokohama, Odawara, and three luxury SLH hotels.
Conrad Tokyo ↗
Oct. 30 cash rate US$1,073 | 130,000 Points
Highest observed cash rate among conventional Hilton hotels
Hilton Tokyo Odaiba ↗
Oct. 30 cash rate US$462 | 75,000 Points
Tokyo Bay and Rainbow Bridge views. Fixed base Standard Room Reward price.
Hilton Tokyo ↗
Oct. 30 cash rate US$452 | 85,000 Points
Convenient central location and an executive lounge.
Hilton Odawara Resort & Spa ↗
Oct. 30 cash rate US$253 | 88,000 Points
Hot springs, pools, and spa facilities. Consider qualifying resort spending.
Hilton Tokyo Bay ↗
Oct. 30 cash rate US$203 | 60,000 Points
Consider a paid stay and preserve the FNR for a higher-priced hotel.
Hilton Yokohama ↗
Oct. 30 cash rate US$201 | 85,000 Points
Near K-Arena Yokohama. A relatively low cash rate for this comparison.
Gajoen Tokyo ↗
Oct. 30 cash rate US$1,775
No eligible Standard Room Reward dates found in a one-year search.
The Tokyo Station Hotel ↗
Oct. 30 cash rate US$1,330
No eligible Standard Room Reward dates found in a one-year search.
TAKANAWA HANAKOHRO ↗
Oct. 30 cash rate US$1,289
No eligible Standard Room Reward dates found in a one-year search.
Cash rates reflect the October 30, 2026 search results. FNR redemption requires eligible Standard Room Reward availability. High cash rates at the three SLH properties do not represent confirmed FNR savings.
The hotel cards include property photos, hotel names, locations, and booking links. Cash rates and Standard Room Reward prices are presented in the comparison tables above.
🏆 Conrad Tokyo: The Best FNR Candidate in This Comparison
Conrad Tokyo is located in Shiodome, near Ginza and Hamarikyu Gardens. The hotel offers upscale accommodations with views of Tokyo Bay and the surrounding city.
Its observed October 30 cash rate was US$1,073, substantially higher than the rates of the other conventional Hilton hotels in this comparison.
| Item | Conrad Tokyo |
|---|---|
| Check-in Date | October 30, 2026 |
| Cash Rate | US$1,073 |
| Base Standard Room Reward | Fixed at 130,000 Points |
| Points Value at Observed Rate | Approximately 0.825 cents per point |
| Aspire Resort Credit | Not eligible |
If an eligible Standard Room Reward is available, a single FNR could replace a stay that otherwise costs US$1,073.
Although three SLH hotels showed higher cash rates, none displayed eligible award dates during the one-year search. Conrad Tokyo is therefore the strongest conventional Hilton candidate to prioritize.
However, knowing that a Standard Room Reward costs 130,000 Points does not prove that an eligible room remains available on a particular night.
The certificate can only be used when the required Standard Room Reward inventory is actually open.
Conrad Tokyo is my first choice for searching high-value FNR dates in Tokyo.
🎎 Three Luxury SLH Hotels: High Cash Rates, Extremely Difficult FNR Redemptions
Hilton’s partnership with Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) expanded the range of independent luxury properties accessible through Hilton Honors.
Three Tokyo properties stand out:
- Gajoen Tokyo
- The Tokyo Station Hotel
- TAKANAWA HANAKOHRO
All three showed exceptionally high cash rates for October 30.
However, I searched dates across a one-year booking window and did not find an eligible Standard Room Reward at any of these three hotels.
This does not establish that the properties never release award rooms. It means their high cash rates cannot be treated as readily achievable FNR savings based on the observed availability.
Gajoen Tokyo — US$1,775
Gajoen Tokyo is known for its Japanese art, elaborate interiors, gardens, and distinctive luxury accommodations.
The observed October 30 cash rate was US$1,775, the highest among all nine properties.
Historical reports have documented Hilton Honors points and free-night redemptions at the hotel.
Nevertheless, my one-year search did not reveal an eligible Standard Room Reward.
The US$1,775 rate therefore represents the cost of a cash stay on the comparison date, not a confirmed FNR redemption value.
The Tokyo Station Hotel — US$1,330
The Tokyo Station Hotel occupies part of Tokyo Station’s historic Marunouchi building, combining heritage architecture with luxury accommodations and convenient transportation access.
The observed cash rate was US$1,330.
Although historical Hilton Honors points redemptions have been reported, my search across the following year did not identify an eligible Standard Room Reward date.
This makes The Tokyo Station Hotel an attractive aspirational redemption, but not a reliable property around which to plan an FNR stay.
TAKANAWA HANAKOHRO — US$1,289
TAKANAWA HANAKOHRO is an intimate Japanese-style luxury property in Takanawa, featuring traditional accommodations and garden surroundings.
The property has only 16 guest rooms, making it substantially smaller than a conventional Hilton hotel.
The observed October 30 cash rate was US$1,289.
Past traveler reports have documented Hilton Honors redemptions at 120,000 Points per night. However, that historical price does not establish a permanently fixed Standard Room Reward rate or current availability.
My one-year search likewise found no eligible award dates at TAKANAWA HANAKOHRO.
Its limited room inventory makes verifying actual Standard Room Reward availability especially important.
Why Japan-Issued Weekend Free Night Rewards Are More Restrictive
| Requirement | U.S. Hilton Aspire FNR | Japan-Issued Hilton Amex FNR |
|---|---|---|
| Eligible Nights | Monday–Sunday | Friday–Sunday |
| Standard Room Reward Required | Yes | Yes |
| Eligible Weekday Award Room | Can redeem | Cannot redeem |
| Date Flexibility | Greater | More restricted |
The Japanese Hilton Amex Weekend Free Night Reward can only be used for Friday, Saturday, or Sunday nights.
The U.S.-issued Hilton Aspire FNR does not have the same weekend-only restriction.
If these SLH hotels eventually release a small number of eligible weekday award rooms, U.S. FNR holders would have more flexibility. Japanese Weekend FNR holders would still need Friday, Saturday, or Sunday availability.
In this search, however, the problem was broader: eligible Standard Room Reward dates were not found at all within the searched one-year window.
These three SLH hotels offer impressive potential cash value, but they are not practical primary FNR targets based on the availability observed.
For a detailed comparison of Japanese and American certificate rules, see the Japan vs. U.S. Hilton Credit Card Comparison.
🌊 Hilton Tokyo Odaiba vs. Hilton Tokyo: Two Good Alternatives
If Conrad Tokyo does not have an eligible award room for the desired night, Hilton Tokyo Odaiba and Hilton Tokyo are reasonable alternatives.
Their cash rates differ by only US$10, although they offer quite different locations and experiences.
Hilton Tokyo Odaiba — US$462
Hilton Tokyo Odaiba is located along Tokyo Bay, offering views of Rainbow Bridge and the waterfront.
The observed October 30 cash rate was US$462, while its fixed base Standard Room Reward price was 75,000 Points.
That corresponds to approximately 0.616 cents per point for a points redemption.
For an FNR redemption, the more meaningful benefit is replacing the US$462 cash rate, provided an eligible Standard Room Reward is available.
The hotel is particularly attractive to travelers who prefer waterfront views and a relaxed atmosphere.
Hilton Tokyo — US$452
Hilton Tokyo is located in Nishi-Shinjuku, with convenient access to business districts, shopping, transportation, and an executive lounge.
Its October 30 cash rate was US$452, and the observed Standard Room Reward price was 85,000 Points.
The hotel’s Standard Room Reward pricing ranges from 70,000 to 85,000 Points in this comparison.
At the observed rate, 85,000 Points would provide approximately 0.532 cents per point.
Hilton Tokyo Odaiba offers a slightly better points redemption value for this night.
However, when using an FNR, the US$10 cash-rate difference is relatively small.
Both hotels belong in the second tier of FNR options, with location and personal travel plans likely determining the better choice.
🌃 Hilton Yokohama: Low FNR Priority
Hilton Yokohama is located in Minato Mirai, near K-Arena Yokohama.
It is convenient for concerts, events, and sightseeing around Yokohama’s waterfront.
However, the observed October 30 cash rate was only US$201, while its Standard Room Reward required 85,000 Points.
The hotel’s observed Standard Room Reward pricing range was 39,000–85,000 Points.
This produces a points redemption value of approximately 0.236 cents per point for the comparison night.
Using an FNR would also replace only US$201 in cash spending, substantially less than at Conrad Tokyo.
For this specific date, Hilton Yokohama is not an attractive priority for an FNR.
🏨 Hilton Tokyo Bay: Save the FNR and Consider Resort Credit
Hilton Tokyo Bay is located near Tokyo Disney Resort and appears on Hilton’s official list of Aspire Resort Credit eligible properties.
For October 30, the observed cash rate was US$203, compared with a Standard Room Reward price of 60,000 Points.
Its observed points range was 51,000–85,000 Points.
At the comparison rate, this represents approximately 0.338 cents per point.
Using an FNR would replace a relatively modest room charge. Travelers with limited certificates may prefer to preserve them for more expensive hotels.
However, Hilton Tokyo Bay has a separate advantage: qualifying direct purchases at the hotel can be eligible for the Hilton Aspire Resort Credit.
For travelers already planning to visit Tokyo Disney Resort, a paid stay using the Aspire Card may be more practical than redeeming an FNR for this night.
♨️ Hilton Odawara Resort & Spa: A Stronger Resort Credit Strategy
Hilton Odawara Resort & Spa is located in Kanagawa Prefecture, with views of Sagami Bay and facilities including hot springs, pools, and spa services.
Its appeal is the resort experience rather than just the room price.
The observed October 30 cash rate was US$253, while the Standard Room Reward required 88,000 Points.
Its observed pricing range was 53,000–100,000 Points, resulting in a points redemption value of approximately 0.288 cents per point.
From an FNR perspective, replacing a US$253 stay is less compelling than redeeming a certificate at a high-rate property.
However, Hilton Odawara also participates in the Aspire Resort Credit program.
For guests planning to enjoy the hotel’s dining, spa, or other qualifying resort services, the Resort Credit may provide a more useful benefit than consuming an FNR.
💳 Hilton Aspire Resort Credit: Tokyo Bay and Odawara
The U.S.-issued Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card provides up to US$400 per calendar year in Hilton Resort Credits, divided into two semiannual periods.
| Benefit | Hilton Aspire Resort Credit |
|---|---|
| January–June | Up to US$200 |
| July–December | Up to US$200 |
| Annual Maximum | US$400 |
| Eligible Spending | Qualifying direct purchases at participating Hilton Resorts |
| Eligible Hotels in This Guide | Hilton Tokyo Bay; Hilton Odawara Resort & Spa |
Both Hilton Tokyo Bay and Hilton Odawara Resort & Spa are included in Hilton’s participating resort list.
Other Hilton hotels in Tokyo should not be assumed eligible simply because they are part of the Hilton portfolio.
Can an FNR Stay Be Combined With Resort Credit?
FNR and Resort Credit serve different purposes.
An FNR covers an eligible award night, while Resort Credit applies to qualifying purchases charged to the Aspire Card at participating resorts.
For example, during an FNR stay at Hilton Odawara:
- Confirm Standard Room Reward availability and book the eligible room using an FNR.
- Make qualifying purchases at the participating resort.
- Charge eligible dining, spa, or other qualifying expenses to the room.
- Pay the qualifying room-account balance with the Aspire Card.
- Receive the applicable statement credit under American Express terms.
A room already covered by an FNR does not create an additional paid room charge.
Similarly, an unused US$200 credit should not be treated as guaranteed savings unless eligible spending actually occurs.
A Paid Stay May Make More Sense
With cash rates of US$203 at Hilton Tokyo Bay and US$253 at Hilton Odawara, a paid stay is worth comparing against an FNR redemption.
If the reservation or other resort spending qualifies for an available Aspire Resort Credit, paying cash can reduce the effective out-of-pocket cost while preserving the FNR for a more expensive hotel.
The overall strategy is simple:
Use FNR for high-value eligible room nights, and use Resort Credit for qualifying spending at participating resorts.
For the full rules and participating hotels, see the Hilton Aspire Resort Credit Guide.
For the card’s complete benefits, see the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card Guide.
⚠️ Important Hilton FNR Redemption Rules
Standard Room Reward Availability Is Essential
An FNR cannot be used for every room offered for cash or points.
An eligible Standard Room Reward must be available. A Premium Room Reward is not an equivalent substitute.
High Cash Rates Are Not Confirmed FNR Savings
The three SLH properties had cash rates above US$1,200, but no eligible award dates appeared during the one-year search.
Their prices demonstrate potential value, not a confirmed redemption opportunity.
Japan-Issued FNRs Have Weekend Restrictions
Japan-issued Hilton Amex Weekend Free Night Rewards are restricted to Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.
U.S.-issued Hilton Aspire FNRs do not have the same restriction.
Fixed Points Pricing Does Not Guarantee Award Availability
Conrad Tokyo has a fixed base Standard Room Reward price of 130,000 Points, and Hilton Tokyo Odaiba has a fixed base price of 75,000 Points.
However, the points requirement and the availability of an eligible room are separate matters.
Aspire Resort Credit Requires Qualifying Transactions
The Aspire Resort Credit applies only at participating resorts and to qualifying transactions.
An FNR-covered room does not automatically trigger Resort Credit, and unused credit should not be counted as realized savings.
🏁 Conclusion: Where Should You Redeem a Hilton FNR in Tokyo?
The results of this nine-hotel comparison highlight the two factors that matter most:
A high cash rate and eligible Standard Room Reward availability must exist on the same date.
Gajoen Tokyo, The Tokyo Station Hotel, and TAKANAWA HANAKOHRO showed cash rates of US$1,289–1,775, but no eligible award dates appeared in the one-year search. These properties remain difficult aspirational targets.
Conrad Tokyo, at US$1,073, is the strongest conventional Hilton property to prioritize for a high-value FNR search.
Hilton Tokyo Odaiba and Hilton Tokyo, at US$462 and US$452, are reasonable alternatives.
Hilton Yokohama, Hilton Tokyo Bay, and Hilton Odawara had cash rates of US$201–253, making them less compelling FNR choices for this specific night.
Tokyo Bay and Odawara still provide a separate opportunity to use the Aspire Resort Credit on qualifying spending.
My preferred strategy is to search Conrad Tokyo first, treat the three SLH hotels as difficult redemption targets, and use Aspire Resort Credit for qualifying resort spending at Tokyo Bay or Odawara.
