Korean Air Prestige West Lounge Review at ICN T2: Dining, Bar, Wellness Room & Showers

Incheon International Airport Terminal 2 is home to several Korean Air lounges, including the recently renovated Korean Air Prestige West Lounge. With its spacious seating areas, contemporary interior, staffed cocktail bar, Korean buffet, and dedicated relaxation facilities, this lounge offers a noticeably more refined experience than a typical business class lounge.

On this visit, I was flying Asiana Airlines Business Class from Incheon (ICN) to Tokyo Haneda (HND). As part of the ongoing integration between Korean Air and Asiana Airlines, I was directed to the Korean Air Prestige West Lounge before departure.

The lounge itself was impressive, particularly its size, dining options, and bar service. However, my experience with the shower reservation system was considerably less positive.

The renovated Prestige West Lounge is one of Korean Air’s major premium lounge facilities at Incheon Terminal 2.

Its substantial floor area and variety of seating configurations make it suitable for both short connections and longer waits before departure.

The lounge is located on the fourth floor of the international departures area, near Gate 248.

Passengers should note that Korean Air operates multiple lounges within Terminal 2. The Prestige West Lounge is a separate facility from the Prestige East Lounge and other Korean Air lounge locations.

🎫 Lounge Access: Flying Asiana Airlines Business Class

During this visit, I was traveling on an Asiana Airlines business class ticket from ICN to HND.

Although Korean Air and Asiana Airlines are progressing through their integration, passengers should not assume that every lounge access rule, frequent flyer benefit, or elite status privilege has already been fully combined.

Actual lounge eligibility depends on the airline, cabin, applicable status, and departure arrangements.

🛋️ Seating Areas: Spacious and Comfortable

Suggested caption: Spacious seating areas and modern interior design at Korean Air Prestige West Lounge.

The first thing that stood out was the sheer size of the lounge.

Rather than relying on a single open seating area, the Prestige West Lounge offers several distinct environments, including individual armchairs, dining tables, lounge-style sofas, and more private seating arrangements.

The interior combines warm lighting, contemporary furnishings, and a layout that feels closer to an upscale hotel lounge than a conventional airport waiting room.

Another advantage is the separation between dining and relaxation spaces. Passengers who simply want to sit down with a drink can choose a different environment from those having a full meal.

For a busy international hub such as Incheon, having this much space is a meaningful benefit.

🍽️ Food & Dining: Korean Bibimbap Was a Highlight

Suggested caption: Korean dishes, bibimbap ingredients, rice, and buffet selections at Korean Air Prestige West Lounge.

The buffet offers a selection of Korean dishes alongside other hot and cold food options.

For me, the highlights were the Korean bibimbap and rice.

Bibimbap is particularly well suited to an airport lounge buffet because passengers can assemble their own bowl using different vegetables, rice, and seasonings.

The rice was also good, which made the Korean dishes more enjoyable overall.

While an airport lounge buffet is not necessarily expected to compete with a dedicated restaurant, I appreciated that Korean Air offered food that reflects its home country rather than relying entirely on generic international buffet selections.

The Korean food was one of the more memorable parts of this visit.

🍸 Staffed Cocktail Bar: A Major Highlight

Suggested caption: Staffed cocktail bar, bartender service, and drink selections at Korean Air Prestige West Lounge.

One of the lounge’s standout features is its large bar with a dedicated bartender.

This is a welcome improvement over the standard self-service beverage stations found in many airport lounges.

Passengers can order mixed drinks directly from the bartender, while the bar menu includes spirits, beer, sparkling wine, and cocktails.

Some of the beverages listed during my visit included:

CategoryExamples
WhiskyGlenfiddich 12, Wild Turkey 101
CognacRémy Martin VSOP
GinGordon’s London Dry
VodkaSmirnoff Red
TequilaSierra Tequila Silver
BeerStella Artois, Magpie Pale Ale, Terra
Sparkling WineSegura Viudas Aria Brut
CocktailsMojito, Whiskey Highball, Cuba Libre, Tequila Sunrise, Black Russian, Gin Fizz

Drink selections and availability may change.

The presence of a bartender also contributes to the overall atmosphere. Combined with the lounge’s modern interior, the bar feels more like a proper hospitality venue than a simple airport beverage counter.

For passengers who enjoy having a cocktail before departure, this is one of the strongest reasons to spend time in the Prestige West Lounge.

💆 Wellness Room: A Private Massage and Relaxation Space

Suggested caption: Wellness Room entrance and private massage lounger at Korean Air Prestige West Lounge.

Another interesting facility is the Wellness Room, a dedicated space designed for relaxation.

The room I photographed contained a reclining massage chair or lounger within a relatively private environment.

Unlike the lounge’s open seating areas, this space provides a more secluded setting for passengers who want to rest before their flight.

The Wellness Room should not be confused with the shower facilities. Its primary purpose is relaxation rather than bathing or changing clothes.

For travelers facing a long connection, a private relaxation area can be a useful addition to the usual lounge amenities.

However, availability and any usage restrictions should be checked with lounge staff.

🚿 Shower Facilities: A 90-Minute Wait Without Getting a Shower

Suggested caption: Digital shower waitlist at Korean Air Prestige West Lounge, showing 16 passengers ahead and the phone number registration process.

Although the lounge has dedicated shower facilities, my experience with the reservation system was disappointing.

Instead of simply walking into an available shower room, passengers must register through a digital waiting system.

How the Shower Reservation System Works

During my visit, the process was as follows:

  1. Go to the shower reservation touchscreen.
  2. Check the number of passengers already waiting.
  3. Enter your country calling code and mobile phone number.
  4. Join the electronic waitlist.
  5. Wait for an SMS notification when your turn becomes available.

When I checked the system, 16 passengers were already ahead of me.

I entered my phone number and joined the queue, expecting to receive a notification before my flight.

Unfortunately, that did not happen.

What Happened During My Visit

I waited for approximately 90 minutes, but my turn never came.

Eventually, I had to leave the lounge to catch my flight.

The SMS notification finally arrived only after I had already left the lounge.

As a result, despite spending a considerable amount of time waiting, I never had the opportunity to use the shower.

My Recommendation for Travelers

If you plan to shower at the Prestige West Lounge, I strongly recommend registering for the waitlist as soon as you enter.

Do not wait until shortly before boarding to check availability.

The digital system itself is convenient because passengers do not need to stand physically in line. However, when demand is high, the waiting time can be substantial.

Based on my experience, having shower facilities does not necessarily mean you will be able to use them during a typical predeparture lounge visit.

This was easily the most frustrating aspect of an otherwise enjoyable lounge experience.

🏁 Final Verdict: An Excellent Lounge With One Major Weakness

The renovated Korean Air Prestige West Lounge delivers an impressive business class lounge experience at Incheon Terminal 2.

Its generous floor space, stylish seating areas, quality Korean dishes, and staffed cocktail bar make it a comfortable place to spend time before an international flight.

The Wellness Room is another thoughtful addition, particularly for passengers looking for somewhere quieter to relax.

However, the shower reservation experience was a clear disappointment. With 16 passengers ahead of me, I waited around 90 minutes without being able to use the facility.

My Overall Assessment

CategoryVerdict
Lounge SizeExcellent
Interior & SeatingExcellent
Korean FoodVery Good
Cocktail BarExcellent
Wellness RoomUseful Additional Facility
Shower AvailabilityDisappointing During My Visit
Overall ExperienceVery Good

Would I visit again? Absolutely.

I would happily return for the comfortable seating, Korean food, and bartender service.

But if taking a shower were my main priority, I would approach the Prestige West Lounge with more caution and join the waitlist immediately upon arrival.
