United Club Membership

The defining benefit of the United Club Card is United Club Membership.

Unlike the United Explorer Card, which provides two United Club One-Time Passes each year, the United Club Card is designed for travelers who want ongoing United Club access.

The membership provides access to eligible United Club locations for the primary cardmember, with eligible guests permitted according to the applicable United Club membership rules.

Cardholders who meet the applicable Premier Status or annual spending requirement can also unlock United Club All Access, providing enhanced lounge access privileges.

1,500 PQP Each Year + US$15 = 1 PQP

For high-spending travelers, the United Club Card’s PQP earning structure is particularly valuable.

Cardmembers receive:

1,500 Card Bonus PQP each year

Eligible card spending earns:

US$15 = 1 PQP

Up to 28,000 PQP per calendar year can be earned through eligible card spending.

This makes the United Club Card significantly more powerful for Premier Status qualification than the United Quest Card, which earns 1 PQP for every US$20 in eligible spending.

For travelers with substantial annual credit card spending, the card can therefore serve two purposes at once: earning MileagePlus miles while accelerating progress toward United Premier Status.

Conclusion

The United Club Card is best suited to two types of travelers: frequent United flyers who regularly use United Club lounges and high-spending cardholders who want to earn substantial PQP through credit card spending.

Its core package is United Club Membership + two free checked bags + Premier Access + 1,500 Card Bonus PQP + US$15 = 1 PQP.

If United Club Membership is not important, the United Quest Card may be the more straightforward choice. If lounge access and Premier Status are both priorities, the United Club Card becomes the stronger option.

Application Rules & Restrictions

When applying for Chase credit cards, keep these key rules in mind:

– 5/24 Rule: If you have opened 5 or more credit card accounts that appear on your personal credit report within the past 24 months, it will generally affect your ability to get approved for a new Chase Card. Most Business Cards that do not report to personal credit reports generally do not add to your 5/24 count.

– Welcome Offer Eligibility: Different Chase Cards have their own Welcome Offer restrictions, and some products also have Card Family Restrictions. Being under 5/24 does not necessarily mean you are eligible for a Welcome Offer.

– Application Timing: Chase does not publish a simple fixed application interval, but submitting multiple Chase applications within a short period may affect approval.

A simple Chase application strategy is:

Check 5/24 → Check Welcome Offer / Family Eligibility → Submit Application

Actual application and Welcome Offer Eligibility requirements are subject to the current terms of each Chase Card.

How Can Foreigners Apply for Chase Credit Cards?

Foreign applicants generally need to establish some U.S. Credit History before applying for Chase credit cards.

If you are new to the U.S. credit card market, one strategy is to first obtain a U.S. Amex through Amex Global Transfer, build your U.S. credit history, and then consider applying for Chase.

Amex Global Transfer → U.S. Amex → Build U.S. Credit History → Chase

Applicants must still meet Chase’s current requirements regarding identification, address, credit history, and other application criteria.
