Bilt Rewards is one of the most unique transferable points ecosystems in the U.S. Unlike American Express Membership Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards, Citi ThankYou Points, and Capital One Miles, Bilt allows Rent, Mortgage, and other Housing Payments to become part of its rewards ecosystem.
Launched in 2026, Bilt Card 2.0 consists of the Bilt Blue Card, Bilt Obsidian Card, and Bilt Palladium Card, while introducing features such as Housing Rewards, Bilt Cash, and Rent Day.
For points and miles enthusiasts, the core of Bilt Rewards can be summarized as:
Housing Rewards + Bilt Cash + Linked Credit Cards + Rent Day + Transfer Partners
How Do You Earn Bilt Points?
Bilt Points can be earned not only with Bilt Cards, but also through the Bilt App and participating partners.
| Earning Method | Key Feature |
|---|---|
| Housing Payments | Housing Rewards on rent, mortgage, and other eligible payments |
| Bilt Cards | Blue, Obsidian, and Palladium |
| Neighborhood Dining | Earn additional Bilt Points at participating restaurants |
| Lyft | Earn on eligible Lyft purchases |
| Neighborhood Rewards | Earn through participating Bilt merchants and services |
| Rent Day | Special rewards events on the first day of every month |
The most important feature to understand is Housing Rewards with Bilt Card 2.0.
Bilt Card 2.0
Bilt Card 2.0 consists of three credit cards:
| Credit Card | Annual Fee | Core Role |
|---|---|---|
| Bilt Blue Card | US$0 | Entry-level Housing Rewards |
| Bilt Obsidian Card | US$95 | Dining / Grocery + Travel |
| Bilt Palladium Card | US$495 | Premium Bilt Rewards |
The new Bilt Cards also eliminate the old 5 Transactions Requirement.
Using a Bilt Card for eligible Housing Payments allows cardholders to avoid Bilt’s Housing Payment Transaction Fee.
More importantly, Bilt Card members can choose between two Housing Rewards options:
Housing-only Rewards
or
Flexible Bilt Cash
Housing-only Rewards vs. Flexible Bilt Cash
This is the most important part of understanding Bilt Card 2.0.
The simplest way to compare the two options is:
| Housing-only Rewards | Flexible Bilt Cash | |
|---|---|---|
| Bilt Card Everyday Spending | Regular Bilt Points | Regular Bilt Points + 4% Bilt Cash |
| Housing Payment | Earn up to 1.25X based on everyday spending | Use Bilt Cash to earn up to 1X |
| Best For | Higher housing expenses | Higher everyday card spending |
One important point:
Only eligible everyday spending on a Bilt Card counts toward this calculation.
Linking other credit cards such as Amex, Chase, or Citi to the Bilt App may allow you to earn additional Bilt Points through Neighborhood Rewards, but those purchases do not count as Bilt Card Everyday Spending. They cannot increase your Housing-only earning rate or earn the additional 4% Bilt Cash available through the Flexible option.
Housing-only Rewards
When you choose Housing-only Rewards, regular Bilt Card purchases still earn the card’s normal Bilt Points, but they do not earn the additional 4% Bilt Cash.
The number of points earned on Housing Payments depends on:
Bilt Card Everyday Spending ÷ Housing Payment
| Everyday Spend / Housing Payment | Housing Earn Rate |
|---|---|
| Less than 25% | 250 Points Minimum |
| 25%–49.99% | 0.5X |
| 50%–74.99% | 0.75X |
| 75%–99.99% | 1X |
| 100%+ | 1.25X |
For example:
Monthly Housing Payment: US$2,000
Bilt Card Everyday Spending: US$2,000
The spending ratio is:
US$2,000 ÷ US$2,000 = 100%
Therefore, the Housing Payment earns:
US$2,000 × 1.25X = 2,500 Bilt Points
In simple terms:
The closer your Bilt Card everyday spending gets to—or exceeds—your Housing Payment, the higher your Housing-only earning rate, up to 1.25X.
Flexible Bilt Cash
Flexible Bilt Cash works differently.
When you choose this option, eligible Bilt Card Everyday Spending earns both:
Regular Bilt Points + 4% Bilt Cash
For example, if a US$1,000 purchase would normally earn 1X:
1,000 Bilt Points + US$40 Bilt Cash
There are two important concepts to understand.
First, the 4% Bilt Cash comes from eligible everyday spending on the Bilt Card, not from paying rent or a mortgage.
Second, your Housing Payment does not automatically earn the full 1X. Instead, you use accumulated Bilt Cash to make your Housing Payment earn Bilt Points.
How Does Bilt Cash Earn Points on Rent?
Bilt’s rule is:
US$30 Bilt Cash → 1,000 Bilt Points
However, this can easily sound as though Bilt Cash can simply be exchanged for points.
A clearer way to understand it is:
Every US$30 in Bilt Cash can make US$1,000 of an eligible Housing Payment earn 1X, resulting in 1,000 Bilt Points.
You also do not need to redeem Bilt Cash in exact US$30 increments.
| Housing Payment | Bilt Cash Required | Points Earned |
|---|---|---|
| US$500 | US$15 | 500 Bilt Points |
| US$990 | US$29.70 | 990 Bilt Points |
| US$1,000 | US$30 | 1,000 Bilt Points |
| US$2,000 | US$60 | 2,000 Bilt Points |
For example, suppose your monthly rent is US$990 and you have US$30 in Bilt Cash.
Use US$29.70 Bilt Cash
→ Make the US$990 rent payment earn 1X
→ Earn 990 Bilt Points
→ Keep the remaining US$0.30 Bilt Cash
In other words, Bilt Cash is not simply used to “buy points.”
You use Bilt Cash to make an eligible Housing Payment earn Bilt Points.
The maximum is still 1X on the actual Housing Payment.
For example, if your rent is US$1,000, having US$100 in Bilt Cash does not allow you to earn 2,000 or 3,000 Housing Points.
The maximum remains:
US$1,000 Housing Payment → 1,000 Bilt Points
Housing-only or Flexible Bilt Cash?
A fixed example makes the difference easier to understand.
Assume your monthly Housing Payment is:
US$2,000
| Monthly Bilt Card Everyday Spend | Housing-only | Flexible Bilt Cash |
|---|---|---|
| US$500 | 1,000 Points (0.5X) | US$20 Bilt Cash |
| US$1,000 | 1,500 Points (0.75X) | 1,000 Housing Points + US$10 Cash |
| US$1,500 | 2,000 Points (1X) | 2,000 Housing Points |
| US$2,000 | 2,500 Points (1.25X) | 2,000 Points + US$20 Cash |
| US$3,000 | 2,500 Points (1.25X) | 2,000 Points + US$60 Cash |
| US$4,000 | 2,500 Points (1.25X) | 2,000 Points + US$100 Cash |
This table compares only the difference in Housing Rewards and Bilt Cash between the two options. The regular Bilt Points earned from everyday Bilt Card spending are earned under both options.
A simple rule of thumb:
Higher Housing Payment + lower Bilt Card everyday spending
→ Housing-only Rewards is generally more straightforward.
Higher Bilt Card everyday spending
→ Flexible Bilt Cash becomes increasingly attractive.
For example:
US$2,000 Housing Payment + US$4,000 Everyday Spend
Housing-only:
2,500 Housing Points
Flexible:
US$160 Bilt Cash
Use US$60 of that Bilt Cash:
US$2,000 Housing Payment × 1X = 2,000 Bilt Points
You still have:
US$100 Bilt Cash
So the real comparison is:
Housing-only: 2,500 Points
vs.
Flexible: 2,000 Points + US$100 Bilt Cash
—not simply 1.25X vs. 1X.
What Else Can You Do With Bilt Cash?
Bilt Cash and Bilt Points are two different rewards currencies.
Bilt Points can be transferred to airline and hotel loyalty programs, while Bilt Cash is primarily used for benefits within the Bilt ecosystem.
| Bilt Cash Use | How It Works |
|---|---|
| Housing Rewards | Make Housing Payments earn up to 1X Points |
| Point Accelerator | Increase points earned on eligible purchases |
| Transfer Bonus | Certain promotions may be unlocked with Bilt Cash |
| Travel / Partner Benefits | Redeem according to current Bilt benefits |
For example, eligible Obsidian and Palladium cardholders can use Point Accelerator:
US$200 Bilt Cash → Activate a +1X Point Accelerator
The next US$5,000 in eligible purchases can earn:
+1X Bilt Point
If the full US$5,000 is spent, you can earn up to:
5,000 additional Bilt Points
For high-spending cardholders, this means the Bilt Cash remaining under the Flexible option does not necessarily have to be used entirely for Housing Rewards.
Bilt App: Earn Bilt Points With Other Credit Cards
Another unique feature of Bilt Rewards is that you may be able to earn additional Bilt Points without using a Bilt Card.
For example, eligible Amex, Chase, Citi, and other credit cards can be linked to the Bilt App. At participating Neighborhood Dining restaurants, eligible purchases may earn:
Your Credit Card Rewards + Bilt Neighborhood Rewards
For example:
Your linked credit card:
4X Dining Rewards
Bilt Neighborhood Dining:
+2X Bilt Points
Total:
4X Credit Card Rewards + 2X Bilt Points
However, there is an important distinction:
Spending on other linked credit cards is separate from Bilt Card Housing Rewards.
Purchases on other linked cards:
- Do not count toward the Housing-only Everyday Spending Ratio
- Do not earn the additional 4% Bilt Cash under the Flexible option
- Cannot help increase Housing-only Rewards to 1.25X
Their purpose is to stack Neighborhood Rewards, not to participate in the Bilt Card 2.0 Housing Rewards system.
What Is Rent Day?
Rent Day is Bilt’s rewards event held on the first day of every month.
| Rent Day Benefit | Key Feature |
|---|---|
| Double Points | Certain eligible Bilt Card purchases may earn double points |
| Transfer Bonus | Bonuses for selected airline or hotel transfer partners |
| Dining | Limited-time Neighborhood Dining offers and experiences |
| Fitness | Rent Day fitness activities |
| Free Rent | Periodic opportunities related to free rent |
For example, subject to the applicable monthly terms, an eligible category that normally earns:
3X Dining
may earn:
6X Bilt Points on Rent Day
For points and miles enthusiasts, another important feature is the Transfer Bonus.
For example:
Normally:
1,000 Bilt Points → 1,000 Partner Miles
With a 50% Transfer Bonus:
1,000 Bilt Points → 1,500 Partner Miles
A useful strategy is:
Accumulate Bilt Points → Find Award Space → Check Rent Day → Transfer When a Useful Bonus Is Available
Bilt Rewards Elite Status
Bilt Rewards has four elite tiers: Blue, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Higher status unlocks additional Rent Day, hotel, travel, and exclusive experience benefits.

Note: Blue / Silver / Gold / Platinum are Bilt Rewards Elite Status tiers. Bilt Blue / Obsidian / Palladium are Bilt Card products and are separate from elite status.

Among these partners, Atmos Rewards, United MileagePlus, and Japan Airlines Mileage Bank are particularly notable transfer options within Bilt Rewards.
Bilt Hotel Transfer Partners
| Hotel Program | Transfer Ratio |
|---|---|
| IHG One Rewards | 1,000 → 1,000 |
| World of Hyatt | 1,000 → 1,000 |
| Marriott Bonvoy | 1,000 → 1,000 |
| Hilton Honors | 1,000 → 1,000 |
| Wyndham Rewards | 1,000 → 1,000 |
| Preferred Hotels | 1,000 → 2,000 |
| ALL – Accor Live Limitless | 3,000 → 2,000 |
One of the most important partners is World of Hyatt:
1,000 Bilt Points → 1,000 World of Hyatt Points
This makes Bilt Rewards another important source of transferable World of Hyatt points alongside Chase Ultimate Rewards.
Bilt Rewards Historical Transfer Bonuses
For members with a large Bilt Points balance, it can therefore make sense to hold points and wait for a valuable transfer partner to receive a Rent Day bonus.
| Date | Transfer Partner | Maximum Transfer Bonus |
|---|---|---|
| Sep 2026 | Virgin Atlantic / Virgin Red | Up to +100% |
| Jul 2026 | Hilton Honors | Up to +200% |
| Jun 2026 | TAP Miles&Go | Up to +125% |
| May 2026 | Avios Programs | Up to +100% |
| Apr 2026 | Wyndham Rewards | Up to +125% |
| Mar 2026 | Japan Airlines Mileage Bank | Up to +125% |
| Feb 2026 | ALL – Accor Live Limitless | Up to +125% |
| Dec 2025 | Avios Programs | Up to +100% |
| Nov 2025 | Etihad Guest | Up to +100% |
| Sep 2025 | Virgin Atlantic Flying Club | Up to +100% |
| Aug 2025 | Avianca LifeMiles | Up to +100% |
| Jun 2025 | ALL – Accor Live Limitless | Up to +200% |
| May 2025 | Southwest Rapid Rewards | Up to +100% |
| Apr 2025 | Avios Programs | Up to +100% |
| Mar 2025 | Hilton Honors | Up to +200% |
| Feb 2025 | Avianca LifeMiles | Up to +100% |
Avios Programs: British Airways, Iberia and Aer Lingus.
The June 2025 ALL promotion was particularly notable. The standard transfer ratio was 3 Bilt Points → 2 ALL Reward Points, while Gold and Platinum members received a 200% transfer bonus.
For example:
3,000 Bilt Points → 2,000 ALL Points → +200% → 6,000 ALL Points
This makes Bilt particularly attractive for a “earn now, transfer when the right bonus appears” strategy.
Note: Historical transfer bonuses do not guarantee future promotions. Selected partners, bonus rates, Bilt Status requirements and transfer limits may vary by promotion. Always check the terms of the specific Rent Day offer before transferring points.
Comparing the Five Major Transferable Points Ecosystems
| Points Program | Core Strength | Notable Transfer Partners |
|---|---|---|
| American Express Membership Rewards | Strong airline transfer network | ANA |
| Chase Ultimate Rewards | Airlines + Hotels | United, Hyatt |
| Citi ThankYou Points | Unique airline partners | American Airlines, EVA Air |
| Capital One Miles | Broad airline partner network | JAL |
| Bilt Rewards | Housing + Bilt Cash + Rent Day | Atmos Rewards, United, JAL, Hyatt |
Conclusion
The most distinctive feature of Bilt Rewards is its ability to combine Housing Payments with transferable airline miles and hotel points.
Bilt Card 2.0 cardholders can choose between two Housing Rewards options:
Housing-only Rewards
→ Earn regular Bilt Points on everyday purchases, while Housing Payments earn up to 1.25X based on the spending ratio.
Flexible Bilt Cash
→ Earn regular Bilt Points + 4% Bilt Cash on eligible everyday spending, then use Bilt Cash to make Housing Payments earn up to 1X Bilt Points. Any remaining Bilt Cash can be used for other eligible Bilt benefits.
Combined with the ability to stack rewards from linked credit cards through the Bilt App, monthly Rent Day benefits, and transfer partners such as Atmos Rewards, United, JAL, and World of Hyatt, Bilt has created a rewards ecosystem that works very differently from traditional bank points programs.
