Atmos Rewards combines Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines under one loyalty program while retaining one of the most useful features of the former Alaska Mileage Plan: access to a large network of international airline partners.
💳 How to Earn Atmos Points
Starting in 2027, Atmos Rewards introduces Choose How You Earn. Members can select one of three earning methods each calendar year: Distance, Price Paid, or Segments.

🎫 Award Travel Still Earns Status Points
Award Travel booked with Atmos Points does not earn additional redeemable Points, but it still earns Status Points.
Starting in 2027, the calculation depends on your selected earning method:

Partner flights depend on both:
your selected earning method + where the ticket was purchased.

So the 250% earning rate is not part of Distance earning. It is a special calculation used under Price Paid for certain partner-issued tickets.

🌏 How to Read the Partner Award Charts
The three Partner Award Charts above show the complete distance bands and redemption rates. In practice, however, there is one more important question:
Which Award Chart applies to your itinerary?
The easiest place to start is one of the most common redemptions: U.S. → Asia.
🇺🇸 U.S. to Asia: Focus on Partner Airlines
If you’re using Atmos Points to fly from the U.S. to Japan, Taiwan, or other destinations in Asia, it generally makes sense to focus on Partner Airlines first.
Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines flights now use dynamic pricing, and long-haul awards can price extremely high. For this reason, I generally skip Alaska / Hawaiian-operated flights when looking for high-value long-haul redemptions and focus on Partner Awards instead.
For U.S. → Asia Partner Awards, start with the Asia Pacific Award Chart:
Partner Airline → Total Flight Distance → Distance Band → Points Required
This means two itineraries from the U.S. to the same destination in Asia may require different amounts of Atmos Points if their total flight distances fall into different Distance Bands.
The key to Atmos Rewards Partner Awards is identifying the applicable Award Chart and then determining which Distance Band your total itinerary falls into.
🌍 Cross-Region Awards Can Use Different Charts
Redemptions between Asia, the Middle East, and Europe can be less intuitive.
A particularly useful real-world example is Oman Air departing from Muscat (MCT):

All four itineraries depart from MCT, yet flights toward Asia and Europe use different Award Charts.

In other words, the departure airport alone does not determine which Award Chart applies to a cross-region redemption.
✈️ Asia → Europe Does Not Always Use the Europe Chart
Finnair flights from Asia to Helsinki provide another interesting example:

For more complicated itineraries between Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, check the actual number of Points displayed by Alaska Airlines and compare it with the three Partner Award Charts above.
First identify the applicable Award Chart, then determine which Distance Band your total flight distance falls into.
Once you understand this structure, the next step is finding the routes that maximize each Distance Band.

👥 Can You Book Atmos Rewards Award Tickets for Someone Else?
Yes. Atmos Rewards members can use their points to book award tickets for family members, friends, or other travelers. The account holder does not need to travel with the passenger.
This applies to eligible award flights on Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, and Atmos Rewards partner airlines.
Booking for someone else is different from transferring points. You do not need to transfer points to another person’s account to book their ticket. Atmos Rewards Summit cardholders also have a separate benefit allowing free points transfers within a network of up to 10 designated members.
